Why Embodiment Coaching?
I like to think of the body, that same body that has been with you all your life, as someone who persistently tugs at your sleeve and tries to point out something you're missing. The body, with its aches, pains, and patterns of tension, is always in communication with us, trying to raise our awareness. Through embodiment coaching, I help people "listen" to the message. Sometimes it's a process of slowing down. Sometimes it's an experiment of shifting the body's position to notice what changes. Every time it's a step that brings us closer to not missing out on life.
My story…
I was an avid comic book reader when I was young, so I call this my origin story. I first stepped on this path in the early 2000s while on my healing journey with anxiety and depression. I seemed to make the most progress when my body was addressed along with my mind. As I improved, I wanted to help others feel better in their bodies. I became a massage therapist and bodyworker.
As I worked with clients, I was fascinated with the state shift that often occurred between the beginning of the session and when they would step lightly out the door. What happens when people have the opportunity to catch their breath, slow down, and bring their attention to their immediate senses? Could there be a way to rest in the support of the body in day-to-day life?
This curiosity led me to become acquainted with embodiment coaching. I went to some online conferences and seminars, but dove into the deep end in 2020 and pursued certification through Embodiment Unlimited.
I use my embodiment coaching training and my experience as a bodyworker as a foundation for the services I offer today. Please check out the Offerings page for service descriptions. I'd love to book a free 15-minute Discovery Call with you to see if something I'm offering is right for you.
